Born in Cognac.

This premium vodka has its roots in the city of Cognac, renowned worldwide as the home of the finest spirits. The prestige accorded to the region arises from the sheer quality and purity achieved over generations by its master distillers.

La French Vodka distinguishes itself by its unique recipe: fine French wheat mixed with crystal-clear local spring water, carried through a process of quintuple distillation. The union of these natural ingredients creates a taste and finish that is completely its own, smooth and never overpowering, whether enjoyed over ice or as the foundation of a signature cocktail.

How Vodka Is Made

Vodka begins as a simple idea and ends as a precise craft. Here is the general process behind every clean, well-made vodka, and the extra steps that set a premium spirit like La French apart.

1

Fermentation

A base of grain, most often wheat, rye, or corn (or sometimes potatoes), is mashed and fermented, converting natural starches and sugars into a raw alcohol.

2

Distillation

The fermented wash is distilled to separate and concentrate the alcohol, removing water and impurities. Each additional pass through the still refines the spirit further.

3

Five Times Distilled

La French Vodka is distilled five times, well beyond the industry standard, for a cleaner, smoother spirit with fewer congeners and a softer finish.

4

Water & Filtration

The distilled spirit is cut to bottling strength with water. The quality of that water matters enormously; La French uses crystal-clear Cognac spring water.

5

Bottling

The finished spirit is bottled at 40% ABV, ready to travel from the Cognac region of France to glasses around the world.

A Longer Story

A Spirit With Deep Roots

Vodka's story stretches back centuries, with its earliest roots most often traced to Eastern Europe; the word itself descends from "voda," meaning simply "water" or "little water" in Slavic languages. From those origins, vodka spread across the world, adapted by distillers everywhere to their own grain, water, and craft.

France brings a different kind of pedigree to the category. The Cognac region has spent centuries perfecting the art of distillation for some of the world's most respected spirits. La French Vodka draws on that same regional mastery, the same water, the same discipline around multiple distillations, and applies it to vodka rather than brandy. The result is a spirit built with a distiller's patience: five passes through the still instead of the usual one or two, in pursuit of a smoother, more refined pour.
